THE WORKSHOP
Creative lighting at its boldest, brightest, and most unapologetically fun!
Ever thought lighting was just about turning things on and pointing them at your subject? Please.
This workshop throws out the boring and turns the drama all the way up! We’re talking saturated colour washes, electric beams, and laser-sharp effects that transform your images from “nice shot” to “how on earth did you shoot THAT?” This is creative lighting at its boldest, brightest, and most unapologetically fun.
You’ll learn how to mix and layer gels for maximum impact, then cut through the colour with beams and laser effects that give your shots that futuristic, editorial punch. This is the playground for photographers who want their images to look like they belong on a festival stage or inside a sci-fi movie poster.
Are you ready to light it up?

YOUR EDUCATOR
Jason
Lead Educator, Content
Jason is the technical brain behind the lighting setups, studio systems, and digital backbone of the Hub. From cinematic portrait lighting to high-end commercial setups, he teaches photographers how to shape light with confidence while somehow making the technical feel creative, simple, and genuinely fun.
When he’s not leading lighting education, Jason is usually behind the scenes building, fixing, upgrading, or reinventing the Creativity Hub digital world, from the website and event systems to the little innovations nobody notices until they stop working. Part photographer, part educator, part full-time tech fixer, he’s the reason both the lights and the website stay on.
Styled models & sets
Professionally styled models sets for all half-day or full-day sessions with dedicated models on each set.
Lunch & refreshments
A buffet style lunch with the team gives a welcome break for full-day attendees to reset, review pictures, and prepare for the afternoon sessions. Tea, coffee and pastries throughout the day for all guests.
Aftercare & community
A place in our community groups to share images and support fellow photographers in celebrating the best events shots, and stay in touch long after the event.
1-to-1 shooting time
With group sizes of only 3-4 so you will enjoy plenty of dedicated time within your group to shoot 1-to-1 with agency level models on each set. Never a scrum for position - paparazzi style shooting is strictly forbidden.
Direct access to a Lighting Director
To help your build confidence, every event kicks off with a full kit demo covering lighting and camera settings relevant for the event aesthetic. Lighting directors are always on-hand to take questions throughout the day if required.
