THE WORKSHOP

Two days, two disciplines and two duos.
Latin duo and pas de deux

Two dancers, twelve set-ups, and a weekend built to fill your portfolio.

This is dance photography with everything already in place. Four professional dancers working in pairs, a dance movement director shaping every pose for your camera, twelve fully styled set-ups across two days with each one lit ready before you lift your camera.

Latin on the Saturday and Ballet on the Sunday. Two of the most demanding disciplines in dance, staged at arm's length, with the partner work you'd never get access to on your own.

DAY ONE · LATIN

Latin is where dance photography gets loud, and it's exhilarating to shoot. Speed, extension, and a duo whose best shapes arrive fast and hit hard. Six set-ups take you from hard-edged low key, through colour gels and haze, to bold graphic studio work. You'll shoot peak action rather than hunt for it, build drama with colour and contrast without losing the line, and light for shape and separation across two bodies at once. Our movement director works the duo throughout, holding positions and calling shapes on request. Ask for it, and you'll get it.

DAY TWO · BALLET

A different duo, six new looks, and a form that repays precision like nothing else. We move from soft, sculptural light to deep low-key lighting, working with the restraint the discipline demands. You'll learn where to place your camera to protect the line, how to light a body so every extension reads, and how to shoot pas de deux properly. Long shapes held as long as you need them, and lifts repeated until you have it.

WHAT YOU GET

Twelve fully styled set-ups across the weekend, lighting, backdrop and wardrobe changed for every single one. Four professional dancers, briefed and rehearsed before you walk in. A dance movement director shaping every pose for the camera. Lighting tuition across continuous, strobe, gels and haze, explained as we build. And a hard cap of twelve photographers a day, so you shoot every set-up properly instead of queueing behind a crowd.

WHO THIS IS FOR

Advanced dance photographers. You should already have experience working with dancers and be entirely fluent in manual, because we're working at the level where a portfolio frame and a deleted one are separated by a few degrees of rotation and a light moved eighteen inches.

YOUR EDUCATOR

Jason

Lead Educator, Content

Jason is the technical brain behind the lighting setups, studio systems, and digital backbone of the Hub. From cinematic portrait lighting to high-end commercial setups, he teaches photographers how to shape light with confidence while somehow making the technical feel creative, simple, and genuinely fun.

When he’s not leading lighting education, Jason is usually behind the scenes building, fixing, upgrading, or reinventing the Creativity Hub digital world, from the website and event systems to the little innovations nobody notices until they stop working. Part photographer, part educator, part full-time tech fixer, he’s the reason both the lights and the website stay on.

Styled models & sets

Professionally styled models sets for all half-day or full-day sessions with dedicated models on each set.

Lunch & refreshments

A buffet style lunch with the team gives a welcome break for full-day attendees to reset, review pictures, and prepare for the afternoon sessions. Tea, coffee and pastries throughout the day for all guests.

Aftercare & community

A place in our community groups to share images and support fellow photographers in celebrating the best events shots, and stay in touch long after the event.

1-to-1 shooting time

With group sizes of only 3-4 so you will enjoy plenty of dedicated time within your group to shoot 1-to-1 with agency level models on each set. Never a scrum for position - paparazzi style shooting is strictly forbidden.

Direct access to a Lighting Director

To help your build confidence, every event kicks off with a full kit demo covering lighting and camera settings relevant for the event aesthetic. Lighting directors are always on-hand to take questions throughout the day if required.

Full lighting kit

Multi-light rig with a selection of modifiers to help you craft the perfect shots. You bring a camera, we provide the rest.
