MEET THE TEAM
Four people
at the heart of every event.
Behind every Creativity Hub day is a small core team. Four people who have spent the better part of half a decade building out the visual world, the casting, the lighting briefs, the logistics, and the editorial direction. They are the reason we can run a styled manor-house fashion event in Hertfordshire one week and a create a Wild West saloon in Derby the next. Here they are.
THE CORE FOUR
Founders, builders, educators.
Each of the four leads on a different part of the business, but everybody works on every event. Casting takes turns running ops; the operations lead has been known to work the lighting floor; the educator built half the casting database. It's that kind of team.

Co-founder, Operations & Studio Fashion
Anthony
The operations engine & on-set educator
Anthony (Ant to everyone) co-founded Creativity Hub alongside Naomi. He runs operations on every event: venue logistics, set build, lighting kit, schedule, catering. If something goes right on an event day, Ant arranged it three months earlier. If something goes wrong, he's already fixing it.
On the floor, Ant teaches the location-fashion sessions and the glossy-magazine clean-light setups that anchor every location and international event.
"The shoot is the easy bit. The four weeks before the shoot is the actual job."

Co-founder, Commercial & Creative
Naomi
The brand connector & commercial lead
Naomi co-founded Creativity Hub in 2017 and leads on all corporate partnerships and strategic sponsorships. She works with leading photography brands to bring the best kit into the room, giving photographers direct, hands-on access to the tools that shape their work on the day.
She loves working in high-pressure creative environments and uses that experience to shape events where photographers can produce stronger, more ambitious work.
"It’s my job to make sure every partnership shows up where it counts; in photographers images."

Lead Educator, Content
Jason
The tech brain & lighting expert
Jason is the technical brain behind the lighting setups, studio systems, and digital backbone of the Hub. From cinematic portrait lighting to high-end commercial setups, he teaches photographers how to shape light with confidence while somehow making the technical feel creative, simple, and genuinely fun.
When he’s not leading lighting education, Jason is usually behind the scenes building, fixing, upgrading, or reinventing the Creativity Hub digital world, from the website and event systems to the little innovations nobody notices until they stop working. Part photographer, part educator, part full-time tech fixer, he’s the reason both the lights and the website stay on.
"Most photographers I meet have spent ten years getting good at one kind of light. The Hub is where they finally get to break it."

Casting Director
Katie
The model & performer pipeline
Katie heads the casting director's office, the longer-arc work of finding new models, performers, dancers, period specialists, and stunt-trained subjects to keep the casting roster fresh. Often seen running around backstage with a clipboard, she's equal parts talent scout and movement expert and she knows exactly when someone has “it”, and how to get them in the room!
If you're a working model, performer, or specialist looking to work with the Hub, Katie is who you talk to. The casting database is open to new applicants twice a year.
"My job is to make sure the photographer never has to direct a model. By the time they pick up the camera, the work has already been done."
FEATURED TUTORS
The named educators who teach with us.
Some of our events are led by photographers and educators with their own followings, brought in for specific Showstopper or Lighting workshops. Currently:

Featured tutor · Lighting director
Gavin Hoey
One of the UK's most recognised photography educators, Gavin's YouTube channel reaches a global audience of over half a million photographers. He has been teaching lighting and storytelling for two decades, writing for Amateur Photographer and presenting at The Photography Show.
Gavin directs the lighting plan and works one-to-one with each photographer through every setup. Technical, methodical, and unfailingly generous with his time.
"Most breakthrough shots don’t come from playing it safe, they come from trying something you’re not entirely sure will work. The best images usually show up right after you think you’ve gone a bit too far.. keep going anyway!"

Featured tutor · Lighting director
Gary Hill
Gary is an award-winning portrait photographer, international educator, and Head of Education at the The Guild of Photographers. He's known for his straight-talking and clear approach, and has a knack for taking complex portrait concepts and making them feel simple, intentional, and immediately usable.
As a Head Judge and multiple award winner, Gary has spent years reviewing what makes images succeed at the highest level, and he brings that insight directly into his teaching. On set, he’s fast, focused, and hands-on, helping photographers understand how small changes in light, expression, and timing can completely transform an image.
At Creativity Hub, his sessions are practical, energetic, and full of those “ohhh, now I get it” moments, and helps photographers shoot with more confidence, clarity, and purpose.
"My job is to help photographers understand what makes an image work, and how to make it happen on purpose"
