THE WORKSHOP

Ever wondered how to make a still image move? Dance in Motion is the workshop that shows you how.

Working with a professional dancer, you’ll learn how to harness in-camera techniques and creative lighting to capture spins and flowing movement with impact, freezing explosive moments or blurring them into streams of colour and light.

You’ll explore how light shapes movement, from vivid colour washes that drench the stage in energy to dramatic shadows that carve out form and intensity. With expert guidance, you’ll discover how to frame, compose, and time your shots, so it's less about “getting lucky” with a pirouette shot, it’s about learning the lighting, timing, and in-camera tricks that make your images explode with life.

Jason

YOUR EDUCATOR

Jason

Lead Educator, Content

Jason is the technical brain behind the lighting setups, studio systems, and digital backbone of the Hub. From cinematic portrait lighting to high-end commercial setups, he teaches photographers how to shape light with confidence while somehow making the technical feel creative, simple, and genuinely fun.

When he’s not leading lighting education, Jason is usually behind the scenes building, fixing, upgrading, or reinventing the Creativity Hub digital world, from the website and event systems to the little innovations nobody notices until they stop working. Part photographer, part educator, part full-time tech fixer, he’s the reason both the lights and the website stay on.

Styled models & sets

Professionally styled models sets for all half-day or full-day sessions with dedicated models on each set.

Lunch & refreshments

A buffet style lunch with the team gives a welcome break for full-day attendees to reset, review pictures, and prepare for the afternoon sessions. Tea, coffee and pastries throughout the day for all guests.

Aftercare & community

A place in our community groups to share images and support fellow photographers in celebrating the best events shots, and stay in touch long after the event.

1-to-1 shooting time

With group sizes of only 3-4 so you will enjoy plenty of dedicated time within your group to shoot 1-to-1 with agency level models on each set. Never a scrum for position - paparazzi style shooting is strictly forbidden.

Direct access to a Lighting Director

To help your build confidence, every event kicks off with a full kit demo covering lighting and camera settings relevant for the event aesthetic. Lighting directors are always on-hand to take questions throughout the day if required.

Full lighting kit

Multi-light rig with a selection of modifiers to help you craft the perfect shots. You bring a camera, we provide the rest.
